Tri-Potassium phosphate also known as Potassium Phosphate Tribasic is a water-soluble ionic salt. Tri-Potassium Phosphate requires reaction of a solution of phosphoric acid with Potassium Carbonate and Caustic Potash lye/flex and TPP maintains a minimum PH of 11.5, as compared to Mono and Di potassium Phosphates.
Applications:
- Tri-Potassium Phosphate is widely used as a food additive as it carrys properties such as whipping agent, foaming agent and emulsifier.
- TPP is also used in poultry processing as it is an potential antimicrobial agent when used with fatty acids.
